Description
These 'small' and beautiful 6000 m mountains are on the south of the valley running up to the 7000 m peak Baruntse. Lhotse, the fourth highest mountains in the world is just across the valley, with the huge 3500m south face rising directly from the valley, and Ama Dablam, considered as of the world's most beautiful peaks was just behind me when I shot this. With all the huge mountains around, these lower peaks tend to get overlooked by photographers even though their sculpting is amazing. This monochrome image was taken during a short break in the clouds, with sunlight from behind just hitting the cornices along the ridge, during autumn rainy season, September 2010.
