Description
This image shows a white-tailed deer that had found the perfect scratching post in the woods, a stick that had fallen and got wedged into an old tree stump. The deer had scratched its forehead raw as it was getting close to antler shedding time in mid-February. This is not a wild deer but one of residents in the forest at Two Rivers Wildlife Park, a wildlife recovery center on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
