Description
This grizzly bear (= brown bear) was walking down a game trail to a river. Her claws extend out from under her thick winter fur. This location, the Fishing Branch River in the northern Yukon, has warm springs percolating up in the gravel, so salmon spawn very late in the season and, hence, the heavy winter coats just prior to the bears wintering down.
