This large male lion, known as 'Scarface', is one of most prized photo subjects in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve, and is one of the most famous lions in Africa. Here, in early evening golden hour, he gives a huge yawn showing his set of chipped and missing teeth. Seeing the size and power of the mouth of this apex predator, one can instantly see why no species is really safe from a lion, though for elephants, rhinos, and hippos, it would take more than one lion hunting as a team to kill an adult.
