About this image
The dark immature bald eagle on the ground had just successfully fended off a raid by the adult above. This image was shot at Sheffield Mills, Nova Scotia, in late-February 2021. All winter I have been after a 'dreamcatcher' eagle image, with two birds wing tip to wing tip in a circle. This encounter was so close but, as of late-February 2021, I'm still looking and winter eagle season will be starting to wind down in a couple of weeks - it may need to be a 2022 image instead.
