This image shows a Canada jay - commonly known as a 'whiskeyjack', looking towards the first rays of the sun as it came up. Shot in Pistolet Bay Provincial Park at the northern tip of Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula.

There was a raised grassy area off to the side of my campsite, so I was able to set up a tripod at a lower level and shoot with a big telephoto right at ground level
