Description
A large bald eagle guards feed on the ground, extending its wings to intimidate the two raiding eagles and to be ready to jump into the air and defend if necessary. Howling wind and blowing snow highlight the eagle with a dark forest beyond. This image is one of my personal favorites from the winter 2020 bald eagle season at Sheffield Mills.
Image processing and printing information
The photo was shot at 1/2000 second with a 420mm focal length and processed in Photoshop. For almost all my winter eagle images, I do Photoshop out bits of chicken scraps on the snow. This image is well-suited for matte, semi-gloss, or glossy paper, or for printing on acrylic, metal, or canvas.

Thanks very much Tina. This is one of my personal favorites! One eagle holding fast against the pirates about to land!

Thanks very much for the comment and share Brian (I have always felt this one was kind of the eagle equivalent of Hell's Angels rolling into town!)

Thank you very much Karen. Just got back last night - some eagle images (but not the one I am looking for this year) but had some fabulous owl photography in icy winter conditions!
