This monochrome infrared image of an abandoned church was shot on backroads south of Gardner, Colorado, in June 2017. I was doing a cross-USA backroads Jeep tour (the Trans-America Trail) and just happened to stumble across this old church.

Congratulations Murray, this image has been selected to represent the FAA group Urbex Abandoned in the World as group logo/avatar for the month of May!

No sir, you did tie for 3rd. I go by vote tallies, not the systems randomly generated placement which does not account for ties. There were two images tied with 9 votes for 1st, a single image with 8 votes for 2nd, and two images (yours and another) tied with 6 votes for 3rd. Additionally, one 1st place and the 2nd place images were not group members which makes you eligible for a special feature and logo consideration.

Awesome find and great choice for IR! L,F
Murray Rudd replied:
Thanks Jim. You know, I shot visible light as well when I found this place but never bothered to even process them. IR does so well in this mid-day light, especially with brooding clouds around.
