About the image
This image is of the last afternoon sun rays catching the granite and lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. It was taken on the rocky seashore, where I positioned the camera almost at ground level in front of a small pool of water, which caught in its reflection the lighthouse, deep blue sky, and wisps of cloud starting to color up in the early evening sunset.
Peggy’s Cove is located about 35-minutes outside the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is the site of a quaint fishing village and Canada’s most famous lighthouse. While I lived in Halifax area, I always kept watch for the weather that provided the best evening photography opportunities. On this day in April 2019 I hoped condition would be good as stormy weather was just ending and the forecast was for partial cloudy around sunset, the best of conditions for this location.
