Description
About this image
A large bald eagle charges past another defending its food, with a singular focus on food ahead. There is also a crow in the foreground scattering as quickly as possible.
This image was taken at the Sheffield Mills Eagle Watch in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley in early-March 2020.
Image processing and printing information
The photo was shot at 1/1000 second with a 560mm focal length and processed in Photoshop. As with most of my images on the ground at Sheffield Mills, I photoshop out the blood and scraps left in the snow. This image is well-suited for matte, semi-gloss, or glossy paper, or for printing on acrylic, metal, or canvas.

Thank you Aneta! I love the way they do look like dances when stopped still - real life, however, they are just the bird equivalent of a barroom brawl!

Wow, great shot! Also really interesting description and info about taking the photo and image processing! It didnĀ“t occur to me that the ground would be messy, the final image with only white snow looks almost peacefully like dancing!
