Description
The bald eagle being ground into the snow had been too busy eating and not paying close enough attention to incoming birds. The eagle in the air didn't even try to grab or fight over food, but just plowed straight in sending the eagle on the ground right under the snow. A third eagle in the background was also on approach but did not take advantage of the one bird being down. This image was taken at the Sheffield Mills Eagle Watch in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley in early-January 2020.

Great capture! We don't normally think of eagles as klutzy!
Murray Rudd replied:
Thanks Belinda - they certainly have their moments! I think they enjoy fighting as much as eating, and they are always looking to ambush each other it seems
