Description
About this image
From Candlestick Camp on the White Rim Trail, one gets a very different perspective on Candlestick Tower compared to the view from above, at Island in the Sky, that most people see. Taken in mid-March 2019 shortly after a heavy rainstorm in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, this photograph shows Candlestick Tower reflecting in a pool of water that collected on the desert sandstone of Canyonland's White Rim trail.
Image information
This image was shot with a 17-mm focal length at f/5.6, a 1/30 second exposure, and with the camera at 100 ISO. As with all my photos and digital art, it was processed in Photoshop. The image has a square 2x3 aspect ratio and it is equally well-suited for printing on matte, semi-gloss or glossy paper, or on canvas, acrylic, or metal finishes.

Oh, I like this image very much, Murray. Nice vantage point and fabulous sense of distance. Love that reflection. f/l
Murray Rudd replied:
Thanks very much AnnaJo - it was funny that afternoon I was wondering down the canyon rim looking to the west over the Green River for shots of a full moonset that was coming up. Turned around and smack in front of me was this perfect puddle with the town in the background.
